Scope & Content Collection of photographs of Jean Donat Grenier and his family, as well as a religious card printed at his death in 1934; a copy of a deed for a cemetery plot and a copy of a list of Grenier family members buried in that plot at Mount Calvary as of 1994; a newspaper clipping showing Jean Grenier standing in uniform in front of an airplane; a program from the dedication of Grenier Field in 1942; and a 1984 newspaper article about Genier on the 50th anniversary of his death.
Admin/Biographical History Jean Grenier was born November 24, 1909 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He graduated from West High School and the University of New Hampshire, before joining the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was commissioned 2nd Lt. in 1933. He died in 1934 in Utah, on a training run for an air mail route for the Air Corps. The Manchester Air Base, which became the Manchester Airport, was named Grenier Field in his memory in 1942.
