James Kenyon was Overseer of the Bag Mill Spinning & Spool. Department, Northern Division, Amoskeag Manufacturing Company.
Mr. Kenyon was well known for his baseball prowess. He was born in Portsmouth, N.H. on April 29, 1878 and moved to Manchester on October 4, 1893, beginning his work at the mills as a doffer boy in the mule room of No. 1 Langdon Mill. He worked his way up for many years as a spinner, then secondhand, and eventually became overseer on June 1, 1917. He was married and had three children and was a member of the Amoskeag Textile Club. He also served on the Mexican Border as a member of the National Guard.
