Description |
The Joy House on Hanover and Belmont Streets. One of three octagon houses built in Manchester. The Octagon houses were the design of Orson Fowler. Fowler believed it would provide a greater living area for the outside circumference. The Joy House featured 14 rooms including servant's quarters. The walls were made of large brick and masonry. Construction began in 1885 and was completed in 1886, the same year Henry Joy started to live in the house. |
