View of the south west elevation of the # 10 Mill Southern Division looking north east from the west side of the Merrimack River. Store Houses are seen to the right of the mill, to the far left the east side of the Granite Street Bridge is visible, as is the south section of the # 7 Mill, and the tower of the # 2 Mill Southern Division. Behind the # 10 Mill a chimney can be seen which dates this photograph after 1905. The history of the mill on the far right is the Amoskeag Duck and Bag Mill, organized in 1856 and changed its name to Namaske Mill in 1866, in 1888 it was sold to A. P. Olzendam for a hosiery mill, in 1905 the company failed and it again became the property of Amoskeag Manufacturing Company, now it is a Store House for cloth. copy neg available |
